Decision Framework

Depending on the type of decision, I will approach my choice in different ways. Most short term or in the moment decisions I make are guided through values I’ve chosen to live by. I’ve often made a choice before a decision comes so I know exactly what I’m going to do when a situation presents itself. For more difficult or long term decisions, I will weigh my pros and cons out in my head, and I choose the one that would benefit me the most. Sometimes I even write them out on a list to ensure I am making the best decision with the information I have. I’ve even added a point system to the costs and benefits to help me decide. I used this to help me decide what college to go to as I felt like there were so many factors in my decision that I had to weigh in and write out.

I apply this to groups I’m leading by making sure we have company values that everyone is absolutely convinced are essential and will stand by.If not everyone believes and practices in the company values the company will not always go in the direction desired When making larger, multi faceted decisions I make sure everyone in different groups work out their pros and cons, writing them out so we can compare and decide what would be best as a group.
